  1. You need 4 of Pork chops.
  2. Prepare 1 tbsp of Oil.
  3. You need 1 clove of Garlic.
  4. You need of Sauce.
  5. You need 2 tbsp of Oil.
  6. It’s 4 tbsp of Dry sherry or broth.
  7. It’s 2 tbsp of Brown sugar.
  8. You need 1/4 tsp of Crushed red pepper.
  9. It’s 2 tsp of Cornstarch.
  10. You need 2 tbsp of Water.

San Francisco Chops instructions

  1. Trim fat.
  2. Heat oil. Brown chops.
  3. Remove and a little more oil if needed.
  4. Sauté garlic for a minute. Don't burn.
  5. Combine oil, sherry or broth, soy sauce, brown sugar and red pepper.
  6. Place chops in skillet. Pour sauce over them. Cover tightly.
  7. Simmer over low heat until tender about 30 to 35 minutes. Add a little water 1 to 2 tbsp if needed to keep sauce from cooking down too much. Turn once.
  8. Remove chops. Stir in cornstarch dissolved in water. Cook until thickened.
